If you watch the video I linked, you could answer those questions, yourself. Nice strawman, though. Just because something is common practice, doesn't make it good.

I find it highly disturbing that we send in the Haz-Mat team when a kid breaks a thermometer at school, yet we don't question the wisdom of putting it in our mouths. I agree, that is a problem.
