Default Re: What do you beleive happens to you in the afterlife?

Perhaps we replay all of our life over in our minds. Who really knows if we're still alive at all? I doubt our minds perception of time would be the same as what we consider real time if that's the case.

I am sure however that my body will decay and what makes up my body will become part of other things. Consciousness is a rather confusing subject though. Considering what makes my consciousness is all of the billions of microscopic parts working together, it makes sense to believe that as almost all of them will become a part of different things, any other consciousness that it becomes part of will never be mine.

I wouldn't be surprised if what handy mentioned (on the second page of this thread) was true though. It seems quite possible that if you have any realisation of your own death, perhaps for the split second before your body really does stop to function completely, your mind may show you what you believe to be what you deserve as a consequence of how you feel you acted during your life.

I guess I believe it's down more to psychology than an actual afterlife.

By the way, Carl Jung was Swiss, if it hasn't already been mentioned somewhere else in the thread.
