Very well said, both of you. I'm firmly in the atheistic camp, no agnosticism here. However, I am perfectly happy for others to hold alternative beliefs, so long as they are not forced upon others, and they don't interfere with others' lives.
My best friend goes to church and studies the bible, she is a devout Christian, but never once has she pushed anything onto me or tried to say I'm wrong. That way, I can share her customs from time to time, simply because it makes her happy and reinforces our friendship. She accepts that we have different beliefs, barring the occasional bit of stirring, which is harmless fun. Wouldn't it be nice if all religion could be that way?
