Why would all theists think that there is purpose to life and the universe and why would atheists not? Are they really connected? Perhaps they are connected because some theists are subconsciously atheists who are afraid what atheism means.

I think in principle, knowledge should not impede happiness, people should be able to deal with things and be happy because of what they have. It is no use worrying about that that cannot be helped.(damn i can not remember the name of that point of view.) In practice this is might be too hard. I guess there might be things i do not want to know then. I really am not sure.
