I kind of like this idea of an informal message board for Ubuntu.

I'm married(no kids, 2 cats), 56 and live in South Carolina, USA.
I use Ubuntu most of the time, but I need to keep a windows box on the home network so I run Ultra-Fractal, Paint Shop Pro, and the setup program for the wireless access point (fortunately I can use any browser to access the NAT/firewall box).
I'm learning little about the GIMP but it will not complete replace Paint Shop Pro (v.9).
The real problem is Ultra Fractal--there's no linux equivalent and it only sort of runs under WINE.

The variety of topics here kind of remainds me of the old BIX system that McGraw Hill ran when it had Byte magazine.

I'll have to explore a bit and check things out. By for now.
