The Next day at school at the beginning of second hour. Emma, Sean, Manny, Alex’s walks into the science classroom to find that Mrs. Hatzilakos is not there and there is a substitute Teacher Called Mrs. Furby.

Mrs. Furby: I am fill in for Mrs. Hatzilakos who can't make in for her Morning class due to Personal Issues. She we be in for her afternoon class and to take care of her principle and gymnastic coaching duty. She left a phone message to let the person fill in for her morning class to show the film you were to see on Wednesday class today. During the film Sean look over at Emma, Manny and Alex.

Sean: I have never seen Mrs. Hatzilakos miss any days before, have any of you?Emma: No she always in school even when she is sick as a dog.
Alex: I wonder way she not at school this morning?
Manny: It must be something important since she not here.

The bell ring and the class get up and head to their next class. That afternoon when the girls get to the gym for gymnastics practice there is a note on the door saying that practice is cancel for the day.

Emma: That cool I did not want to practice today anyway, since I have to take off early.

Emma and Sean head out to Sean’s car and he divers her to the Doctor office. Once they get there Emma walk up to the check in desk.

Emma: I am here for My appointment.
Lady at check desk: What is the Name.
Emma: Emma Nelson
L..A C..D: Take a seat and you will be call back in a few minutes.

Sean and Emma walk over to the seat area and takes a set. A few minutes later Emma’s name is called. She heads back with the Doctor.
Emma: So what did the MRI say?
DR. Beep: That you have a small tear to you M.C.L., ACL, PCL and the muscles on both side of you left knee along with a dislocation knee cap.
Emma: Can I still take part in gymnastics?
Dr. Beep: I will give a knee brace to wear, but it only help support the knee. You can continue to do gymnastic if you want.
Emma: Cool
Dr. Beep: But there still a chance you could blow you knee out, but as long as you wear the knee brace this should not happen. but there still a little chance it still could.
Emma: Ok I'll take that chance.

The Doctor fit her for the Knee brace then get her one in her size. And she head out the door, and Sean and her head to his car.

Sean: Did he put you on the injury list?
Emma: No I just have to wear the knee brace he give me, and I can still do gymnastic.

Sean drops her off at home. He then he heads home him self. When Emma gets home, Spike is just put dinner on the table. Emma come skip over to the table and take a set and start put the spaghetti onto her plate.

Spike: What did the doctor say Em?
Emma: That it up to me if I want to continue or stop doing gymnastics. I just have to wear a knee brace if I continue to do the sport to reduce the chance of hurt any farther.
Snake: So what or you going to do Em?Emma: I am going to continue, Since it my senior year and my last year on the team. I can fully heal was the season over.

After Dinner Emma and Manny head downstairs to their bedroom and start to work on their homework but ends up talk.

Emma: Manny’s you never guess who I see at the medical center.
Manny: Who
Emma: Guess
Manny: Liberty, she misses school today.
Emma: No
Manny: Tell me
Emma: Fine, Mrs. Hatzilakos
Manny: Did she see you Em?
Emma: No, she was fill paperwork out as I was walking back with the doctor.
Manny: I wonder why she was there.
Emma: So do I . I can tell you she did not look good.
Manny: She was not feeling good Monday come to think of it.
Emma: No, she wasn't.
The next day Emma, Manny, Alex leaves early then normal for school, because they had a gymnastics practice to make up for not have one the day before. The girls were dress and wait for Mrs. Hatzilakos when she gets there.

Mrs. H: I am sorry about not being here yesterday. I had a doctor appointment.

Emma raises her hand!
Mrs. H: Yes Emma?
Emma: I am Just wonder way you were at the doctor for, If you do not mind telling us because you never miss school before?
Mrs. H: Normal I would say that it not your business, but I will not this time. Since it has to do with the reason Mr. Armstrong has been doing the spot for you girls and not me. The reason for this is I am Pregnant, I am 3 months and 3 weeks along.
Manny: Who the baby father?
Mrs. H: Joey Jeremiah. It time to start practice now.

Manny looks over at Emma and sees she is not wear her knee brace. Manny pull Emma over to her and whisper in her ear.

Manny: Emma way ain't you wear you Knee brace?
Emma: I don't want to and if I do wear the knee brace, I would have to let Mrs. Hatzilakos know. The doctor might let me continue, but Mrs. Hatzilakos does not let people continue if they are injury. Don't tell her either Manny!
Manny: I won't Em. Do you know Sean watch Emma.
Emma: I tell him I was not going to wear it, he does not like it, but say it’s my choice not to wear the brace, but he is going to watch me practice to keep an eye on me. So he can make sure nothing happen.
Mrs. H: Emma and Manny you need to be practice not whisper things to eachother. Emma’s I want you on Beam.

Emma goes over to the beam. She mounts the Beam with a pouch front to a wolf jump, then does a full turn, then does a layout but lose her balance and fall off and hit her left knee on the side of the beam as she is falling off. She gets right back up and redoes the layout to an Arabian then goes into her dismount which is a back walkover to a double back. She does not get an enough high and end up set down on the landed. Emma just set there and does not move and is crying so hard that tears are roll down her face. Mrs. Hatzilakos and Sean come run over to Emma.
Mrs. H: Emma are you are right?
Emma: Yeah
Sean: Are you sure?
Emma: I said I am fine.

Emma goes to stand up, but fall back down. Alex comes walk over to Emma.

Alex: You are not fine Emma, if you were fine you could stand up.
Emma: I am fine

Emma then tries to stand back up by fall down again, this time she grabs her left knee.

Sean: Emma’s that it, Mrs. Hatzilakos Emma is not wear her knee brace that her doctor told her to wear. Because she has a small tear in her M.C.L., ACL, PCL and a small tears in the muscle on both sides of her left knee along with a dislocation knee cap. She is only able to training if she wearing her knee brace.

Mr. Armstrong kneels down and starts check Emma’s knee out.

Mrs. H: Emma you should have told me about your injury, so I would have known and you should have had you knee brace on.
Mr. Armstrong: Sean go get some ice for Emma Knee and Emma I want you to go the ER and get you knee check out again, because I think you might have blown out your knee.
Emma: When before of after school.
Mrs. H: Before school.

Sean comes back into the Gym and bring the ice pack over to Emma and head it to her.

Emma: Sean can you take me to the ER, Mrs. Hatzilakos and Mr. Armstrong want me to have my left knee check out since I can't put any wight on my left knee.

Sean takes Emma to the hospital to have her knee look at. Back at Degrassi Its lunch time now and Emma and Sean have still not come back to school.

Manny: I am worry about Emma, Lexi what take so long?Alex: I am not sure.

Jay comes over and set down between the two of them and put his left arm around Manny and his right around Alex.

Jay: I am sure Sean or Emma will let us know soon enough what going on, the two of you just need to hang in there and put it to the back of you mind and focus on class then practice after school.
Alex: Yeah you right Jay.

The bell ring to head to there next class and the three them stands up and leave the Lunch room. Emma and Sean get back to school for six and seven-hour. Emma comes walks into her six-hour world History class on crutch.

Alex: What did the doctor say?
Emma: I'll blow my knee out.
Manny: Emma will you knee heal on its own?
Emma: No, I have to have surgery next Friday.
Alex: That suck Em!
Emma: I know, which mean I am on the injury listed the rest of the gymnastic season.
Alex: Is it an outpatient Surgery or do you have to stay over night?
Emma: I have to stay over night, because the wants to keep an eye on me since it’s a major surgery.

The bell rings for the next class. Which is Gym class with Mr. Armstrong. Emma’s is set in the stand and watches both gym class. After school over Emma join the rest of the gymnastics team on the floor mat and listens to Mrs. Hatzilakos.

Mrs. Hatzilakos: Are next meet is two weeks from next Monday against Lakehurst. Emma I want to talk to you, now the rest of you get change for practice. Emma’s what did the ER doctor tell you?
Emma: I blow out my left knee out and I am going to major knee surgery next Friday and I will probably be on the injury list for the rest of the season.
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Ok, you still have to be at practices and come to the meet.
Emma: Ok
Mrs. Hatzilakos: Go have a set in the stands and watch practice.
Emma: OK

That night after practice When Emma and Manny get home, Sean carries Emma’s book bag and gym bag into the house. Emma comes into the house on crutch and takes a set on the couch in the living room, Jack comes run up to Emma and jump onto her lap.

Emma: Ouch, Jack that hurt.

Sean pick Jack up and set him on his lap.

Jack: Sis hurt?
Sean: Yeah sis hurt Jack, so you can't jump on her lap.
Jack: Ok

Jack lean over and Kiss Emma’s left knee to make the knee feel better. The next Friday Snake, Spike, Jack, Sean, Manny and Emma are at the hospital. Emma is waiting to go into surgery and Sean is hold Emma hand. The doctor and Nurse walk up to them.

Dr. Yeep: Its time to take Emma to surgery now.

The nurse starts to wheel Emma back and Jack scream.

Jack: Sis, there not going to hurt you are there?
Emma: No, they going to make me better Jack.
Sean: Jack, she will be all right.

Two hours later they are sitting at Emma bedside in her hospital room.

Jack: Sise up, Sis up!
Emma: Hi Jack
Jack: Better yet
Emma: Better then before, but I still need time to get all better.
Jack: You said the doctor was going to fix you.
Emma: He did, I just need time for the Knee to feel better.
Sean: Jack the doctor put everything back where it needs to be, Emma just needs a little more time before she back to normal.
Emma: Sean head jack up to me.

Sean set Jack next to her on the Bed and Emma read him a story. Alex, Mia and Mrs. Hatzilakos come into the hospital room to check on Emma while she is reading Jack the story. Emma Finish the story and look at her visited.

Mrs. H: How did the surgery go?
Emma: Great, Dr. Yeep was able to fix everything.

The next day when Spike, Snake gets Emma home from the hospital Manny, Jack and Sean are waiting for them in the living room. When Jack’s see Emma coming into the house he runs up to her.
Jack: Sis, sis your home.
Emma: Yep

Sean help Snake takes Emma downstairs to her and Manny Bedroom. Then Sean helps Emma put her leg up on some pillows.
Sean: Em, are you going to be in school on Monday?
Emma: No, I am going to be out for the next week. Can you bring me my homework and help keep me from fall behind in my classes?Sean: Yeah anything for you honey.

One full week later and the day Emma comes back to school. There is also a gymnastics meet that day at Degrassi starting at lunch time, that Emma has to go to cheer her team on. Emma and Sean are at Emma’s locker before school and she is getting her school books together when Alex Manny and Mia walk over to Emma and Sean.

Alex: How are you doing Em?
Emma: Good, Lexi is there something wrong, because you seem quiet then normal?
Alex: No, just tire and I had a bed practice this morning.
Mia: Lexi thanks for watch Isabella for me last night so I could go to the movie with JT.
Alex: No big deal, we had fun and you never get to go out and the one time you do your babysitter calls you and tell you she is sick. When you ask me after practice I could not turn you down.
Mia: Isabella Ask me to ask you if you want to be her babysit for now on. I say I would ask for her.
Alex: Sure, how was she feeling this morning?
Mia: Better
Emma: What was wrong
Mia: Just a little head cold.

The bell rings and they head to class. After the first three hours of school the gymnastic team goes to the locker room to get ready for the meet. Emma set on the sideline and cheer her team on, it was a close meet, Degrassi beat Lakehurst by .1 points.
After the meet. The gymnastic team head to the last hour, which for Alex Manny, Emma, Sean it
gym class.

Emma: Lexi, are you sure you ok, because you not look so good. You are also not take part in gym class and are set in the stand with me?
Alex: I am feeling a little run down is all.

Alex, rub her eyes and lays down on the stands with her head laying by Emma left knee. Emma feels Alex forehead.
Emma: You are running a fever, did Mrs. Hatzilakos know that you are sick, Lexi?
Alex: Yeah but I had to be in the meet, because we were short with Heather getting sick right before the meet, plus you been on the injury list. That left us with only five team members and five go up and the judges count the top four score.
Emma: Oh
Alex: Cough

The bell rings and they all head home, beside Alex who has to go into work and Sean who is taking Emma to her first physical therapy appointment. Sean and Emma talk as he Driver Emma to her appointment.Sean: Em, are you ok you been really quite since after first hour?
Emma: Yeah I am fine Sean. I am worried about Alex that all Sean.
Sean: Em, she says that she is fine.
Emma: She is running a fever Sean.
Sean: She been taking care of herself must of her life and she knows if she is sick or not Emma. And she told both of us she is fine.
Emma: And since when did she like watching children and way would she watch Isabella for Mia?
Sean: She always love watch children ever since her and Jay had they daughter, back in September 2003.
Emma: She has a daughter!
Sean: Oh she has not told anyone about it.
Emma: Is that way she misses some much school the first half of the 2003-2004 school year.
Sean: Yes
Emma: But the first week of school me and Manny were over at her house working on a history report and there was no one there.
Sean: Jay was watching they daughter that night. Lexi went and picked up Star from Jay after she take you and Manny off at your home from gymnastics practice or when she gets off of work.

Sean pulls into the parking lot and parks his car and goes around to the passenger side of the car and gets Emma crutch off the backseat and head then to Emma. The two of them walk into the physical therapy building. Sean is waiting in the seat area, while Emma is doing her physical therapy. At the mall movie theater Alex is trying to stay focus on her job at the snack counter, but her eye keep close on her. She is also worry about the fact that Chad is watching Star for her since Jay had to work Sean hours plus his close hours after school and also that Chad had Star all day since she has the some head cold as Isabella does so she could not go to daycare. Merri walks up behind her.

Merri: Alex wake up
Alex: I'm up
Merri: You eyes were just close then
Alex: Sorry, I'm awake now.
Merri: Good can you close up tonight, I need to go home my daughter is really sick.
Alex: Sure.

Merri head home leave Alex alone to finish the night off and close up. As soon as Merri leave the theater become pack and does not slow down the rest of the night. When she gets home, form work Star is setting on the couch cry.

Alex: What wrong?
Star: Cough, hurt
Alex: What hurt

Star points to her throat.

Alex: Chad did you give Star he medication?
Star: He not here, grandma not here either.
Alex: There just left you home by yourself.
Star: Ah-Choo, yes.

Alex gets Star ready for bed and then goes over to the couch and wait for Emily and Chad to get home. When Emily and Chad walk into the apartment, Alex gives them an evil look.

Alex: Chad you said that you would watch Star and then the two of you just leave her here by her self, she only three-year-old.
Chad: Sorry she was asleep and you were going to be home in two minute.
Alex: No, I called and I tell Emily I was close up for Merri because her child was really sick.
Emily: Sorry I forget.

Alex storms off to her and Star bedroom and goes to bed. The next morning at Nelson/ Simpson/ Santos house. Manny and Emma both over sleep and Alex is knocking on the front door. Spike walks over to the door and answer it.

Spike: Alex’s comes on inside, the girls haven't come out yet and why is Star with you?
Alex: No, Star is sick and can't go to day care today
Spike: I will watch Star for you, Jack stay home today because of an earache.
Alex: Thank you. I am going to go get Manny and Emma now.

Alex walks downstairs to Emma and Manny bedroom and finds that they are both still asleep. She wakens both of them up.

Alex: Emma, Manny wake up we are going to be late to school, Cough.

Manny jumps out of bed and runs over to Emma.

Manny: Wake up Alex is here we over sleep.

Emma set up and rolls her eye at Manny and Alex.

Emma: My knee really hurts, I do not think I can make it to school.
Alex: Emma, you have no days left coughs and Ah-Choo.

Emma slower get out of bed and her and Manny gets ready for school. Then the three girls head upstairs and Star comes run up to Alex.

Star: Momie see you tonight.Alex: You to Star. Oh Manny and Emma this is my daughter Star.
Star: Emma that Jack Sissie Momie
Alex: Yep that Jack big Sister.
Emma: How does she know Jack?
Spike: They both go to the same daycare.

The girls head to school once at school Manny, Alex and Emma go to their first hour class and Sean walks into the M.I. room with Jay.

Jay: Lexi I get the call you left on my voice mail. I am so mad at Chad and Emily for leave Star home by herself. Who has her today because Mia said she was not at daycare when she drops Isabella off?
Alex: Mrs. Nelson watching her for me, since Jack was stay home because of an earache she had to take the day off of work anyways.
Jay: At last I'll know she is safe today and not left alone all day.
Alex: Yeah cough.
Mr. Simpson walk into the room.
Mr. Simpson: Jay’s this is not you class, what are you doing in this class room.
Jay: Sorry I had to talk to Alex before class about Star, Chad and Emily left her alone yesterday.
Mr. Simpson: Oh. But you need to go to you class now.

Jay walks out of the M.I. lab and head to Mrs. Kawn English class.

Mr. Simpson: all right class, today we are gone to hear Alex Nunez power point project.

Alex walks up to the front of the room and put her disk into the main computer and start it up.

Alex: my power point project is on my daughter Star. She just turns three in September. The report take ten minutes when she finish give the report she set back down in her set.

Mr. Simpson: Very good Alex, The picture you use really shows how good of a Mom and dad you and Jay are to Star, and how much you love her.
Alex: thank.

Liberties raise her hand.

Mr. Simpson: Yes Liberty?
Liberty: Alex’s I did not know you had a daughter, why do you keep it hiding for so long.
Alex: Cough, I did not mean to it just happen that way, no one really hangs out with me the first five years I was here beside Jay, Amy, Sean and there all knew, I guess it happen because no one asks about why I miss so much school at the bringing of the year that I had Star.
Liberty: How do you lose the wight so fast after having Star?
Alex: I did not gain a lot of wight, Star wight five lb. at birth and I only gain 15 pounds, cause I was work and going to school, so was always working off what I eat.
The bell rings for class to end and everyone stands up and head to their next class.Alex, Manny, Emma and Sean go to science class and takes a seat in the back of the room. Liberty walks to the back of the classroom and set down by them.

Liberty: Alex did you think about put Star up for adaption.
Alex: No, I could not do that.

Mrs. Hatzilakos walks into class and start class up right away. A half hour into to class Mrs. Hatzilakos walk up behind Alex.

Mrs. H: Alex wake up

Alex set up and rubs her eyes.
Alex: what
Mrs. H: You fall asleep.
Alex: Sorry long night I had to close up at work the come home for work to find out Emily and Chad left Star home along.
Mrs. H: Ok, just stay a waken.
Alex: Fine coughs, Ah-Choo.

Mrs. H then continues with the notes she was have the class take.

Alex: Em what has Mrs. H been talk about?
Emma: I let you copy my notes at lunch.
Alex: Thank, but can you just bring then to my place after school and pick Star up from you house and bring her to my place.
Emma: Sure, but why?
Alex: I need to go home.

Emma looks at Alex and sees that she does not look good. Emma also feels her forehead.

Emma: I think you should go to the nurse and get a pass to go home, so you are excuse for the rest of the day.
Alex: Yeah I am

Alex rises her head

Mrs. H: Yes Alex what do you want?
Alex: Can I have as pass to go to the nurse please I am not feeling good.
Mrs. H: No, because all the gymnasts must be at practice after school today. Which also means you have to be in all you class today Alex.
Alex: Fine, coughThe bell for classes to end rings and the students leaves Mrs. Kawn classroom. The students head to their third hour class, which is English with Mrs. Kawn. Alex goes into the class and lays her head down on the desk. Mrs. Kawn walks into the room and over to Alex.

Mrs. Kawn: Do you need to go and see the nurse, because you do not look good?
Alex: No I'll be fine.

Mrs. Kawn walks to the front of the room and start class.

Mrs. Kawn: Today we are going to hear form everyone on what they have write in they creative write journals. We will start at the front of the room and work our way to the back of the room.


Sean: Lexi you should go to the nurse and went home.
Alex: I have to go to practice tonight. I am not take part in gym class or practice I copy my science notes down doing that time. Cough.
Emma: I think you are coming down with Isabella and Star cold!
Alex: Ah-Choo, no they just had a cough and a sore throat. I am all ache and my nose is also all
stuffed up.
Sean: I can't believe Mrs. H is making you stay for practice, can't she see how sick you are?
Alex: Cough, no but there must be an imported reason for it, if she makes everyone come to practice.
Emma: It just wrong.

That afternoon at Gymnastics practice.

Mrs. H: All right Girls, we have the high school region championship come up in four weeks from today. So there is going to be practice every morning and after school. There is no if and or but you have to be at each practice, even if you are sick as a dog. Now everyone but Emma needs to start practice now.

Alex slow get up and goes into the locker and change with the rest of the girls.

Mia: Alex you do not look good at all.
Alex: I have the flu and Mrs. H would not let me go to the nurse and go home.
Mrs. H: it does not take that long to change.
Kendra: Mrs. H has been so mood later.

The girls come run out of the locker room.

Mrs. H: Alex on vault, Mia on Floor, Manny, Kendra, Heather on Bars, Darcy on beam Now. I change my mind Emma gets change and you are also work on bars doing the whole time even when the other girls switch events.

Emma hops to the locker room on her crutch and changes, then come hop back out. Alex practice Bars last. She looks at Emma and sees that Emma has tears run down her face. Alex put her bar grips on and starts have a cough fit. When she stops coughs, she walks over and grabs her water bottle and gets a drink.

Alex: Emma’s are you ok?
Emma: Yeah my knee just really hurts, I been up on it too long. Are you ok Lexi, you sound awful?
Alex: Cough, Ah-Choo, no I feel like a truck hit me and I have no strong left to do bars.

Mr. Armstrong walks over to Emma and Alex.

Mr. Armstrong: I would start training before Mrs. H sees that the two of you are just talk, Alex since you have not been on Bars yet you start.

Alex mounts the bars but does not get an enough high going to the high bar and fall off.

Mr. Armstrong: Are you all right?

Alex starts to stand up and lose her Balance Mr. Armstrong catch her before she falls onto the low bar.

Mr. Armstrong: Alex and Emma I want t the two of you to go and changes and Emma will you take Alex home ok?
Emma: Sure

Sean walks over to them.

Sean: I'll give Manny a ride home when practice is over.

Alex and Emma goes and change, then Alex head Emma her car keys and they walk out to Alex’s car. Emma first stop at her mom house to pick up Star. Alex goes up to the front door and knock Spike answer the door and Star, see her mom as Mrs. Nelson open the front door.

Star: Momie, Momie.
Alex: Come on it time to go home.
Spike: I fellow you and Emma to you place Alex so I can give Emma a ride home after.
Alex: You do not need to Jay’s is meet us at my place to Pick Star up and take her for the Night he will bring Emma home.
Spike: Ok. Alex walks out to the car and puts Star into her car seat and then Emma takes them home and make sure Alex get into the house and walk back out to Jay’s car with Jay and Star after Emily pack Star an overnight bag.
