The income tax is unfairly applied. Most of the Supreme Court cases on the subject support the arguements of the Tax Protesters. They have some arguements that I consider unsound, too, though.

I think Ed and Elain Brown were railroaded. The judge didn't allow him to present a defense based on a differnet interpetation of the law, which basically denied him the ability to defend himself at all. It would be different if they allowed him to argue his case.

His crime is refusing to participate in a trial he was sure to lose. I don't blame him for what he's doing. I can only hope that if the same thing happened to me, I would have the personal integrity to stand my ground.
