I believe if you send it back to Sony and deny any knowledge of what homebrew is then they will replace it for you, if it is bricked then they won't be able to find out if you have run homebrew on it or not or used custom firmware etc.
And to answer the question I am a PSP user
running 3.03oec at the moment, thank god for the 3.03 downgrader, I bought a copy of GTA as soon as I found out about it but it turned out to be a patched copy, so I went to my local game shop and they swapped it for an unpatched copy for free
