The texts do not change in time, but the religions do. IMO that is the nature of the beast, it is irrational. People say they believe in the texts, while it contains things that would not agree with in the slightest. They delude themselves because it has to be true for them.

I disagree, some beliefs are less justifiable.(although i assume all have assumptions) I treat religions with more respect because their beliefs do not affect me.(because they disagree with the bible anyway) And because of the chance that i am deluded/have misconceptions, myself. Although, the latter is limited to how much i feel i could have misconceptions/delusions.
