Maybe women just aren't stupid enough to run for president

Okay, jokes aside. I wouldn't vote for a woman just because she's a woman. I think Canada and the US are pretty similar in most respects, as much as we like to make fun of Americans, so if you want to see a female leader, take a look at Kim Campbell. I'm not saying that she was voted in just because she was female, and I'm not saying that the next female leader will have the same results. I'm just saying that women do have the right to run for leadership and have been elected in the past, but that may not make them a good leader.

I suppose I'm a little biased, because I really don't like women supporting women just because they're women. I work in a male-dominated field (engineering), and I wouldn't like to see a woman hired over a man just because she's a woman. Similarly, a man shouldn't be hired over a woman just because he's a man. Equality means EQUAL opportunity, not laying down a red carpet for the "unequal" sex. The best person for the job is the best person for the job, whether that person is male, female, gay, white, black, martian, etc.
