I have no objection to software for profit; my complaint would be the basic fraud of "selling" software and then telling the buyers what they can and can't do with it. It's like I would sell you a car, but refuse to turn over the keys, saying, "I'll let you use it anytime you want. All you have to do is ask."
I recently installed my copy of M$Office on a new computer. The other day, when I opened it, I got this message: Microsoft Office will only open 45 more times unless you register it.
In other words, even though I paid full price for it, I have to report my installation to headquarters or lose the use of the product.
So, did I buy this software? did I really? Or did I rent it? |
