| Re: Racism:Do you beleive it's still present in our society? I feel racism is alive and kicking. My wife is Mexican and I am white. You would be surprised at the reactions of some people. I have been told things like "How cute, you have a mixed marriage.", our "What is a mixed marriage like?", and "So what does that make your son?"
We are two people in love and married. It is a marriage, just like any other. We are a family, not any different from any other. Putting a label like "mixed marriage" on it is forcing the issue that it is somehow different. In my opinion this is a racist action.
I am not meaning to insult anyone with this. I just take having my marriage labeled very personaly.
