Re: Where do You stand - Download Now, or Wait to Buy? Both? I chose the bottom choice because all the other options seem to imply I download everything.
I never download Movies/DVDs. If its a movie, I'll either pay to see it in the theatre or wait for the DVD. No way in hell I'm going to watch a good movie that was video taped by some pimple who snuck a camcorder in the theatre. That's just a quality concern.
Same with TV series and films that have been out a while. I'm not poor. I can easily afford my Blockbuster Pass so there is no shortage of things to watch. I will not try to follow a series while it is playing out during the season as I need to be able to watch the next episode when I damn well please in order to get enjoyment out of it. I'm too old for suspense.
Music is another story. I like trying new stuff. I am no angel here - I do download music files, and admit I'm wrong to do so, but I also buy CDs when I see them at a fair price. I think $10US borders on a fair price. If the music company dolts would simply drop their price, they'd sell a ton more CDs - especially if they sold them in convenience stores, gas stations, etc. They need to tap the impulse buy market. |
