Re: How do you picture our world in a hundred years? I think that as the modification of ourselves becomes more viable, and the modifications available increase there will be a split within society.
There will be a (large) group of people who cling to "the old ways". These people will be those who dislike the idea of humanity attempting to rewrite itself using scientific advances, and want to "stay natural".
The others will be those of us who believe that to be all you can be is as good a motto as any, and go right ahead with modification. Inevitably there will be an altercation between the groups, and the smaller, high tech group will probably just get up and leave.
After a brief period of rejoicing in their "victory" the naturals will soon find something else to fight over, and things will slowly deteriorate. |
