Thanks, I do agree, we both share a somewhat common taste in music. I try to listen to anything at least once. Last.fm and Pandora, along with Sirius Satellite Radio has helped expand my musical boundaries. And of course the internet in general
As much as I love music, and wanted to give my life to music for the longest time, I'm kind of in a weird funk right now. I'm have a real sour taste in my mouth with the whole RIAA thing that's been going on. Some bands have shown their true colors. Metallica being on side, Stuck Mojo being on the other side. Stuck Mojo release a whole album on the net for free in mp3 for drm-free.
If Itunes was available for linux, I might take a closer look at that. I'd much rather support an artist with merch, but sometimes that's just not possible. There are almost too many choices for music out there. I long for the days when bands toured nonstop just to get people to listen to them and to have fun. Too many artists see music as a way to make money instead of a way to make music. That's one reason why I can't stand Pop/hip-hop/(most) rap. I started listening to opera and classical last year after discovering Nightwish. It was something "new" to me, and I've never looked back.
Don't get me wrong, I'm still metal to the core. And anyone looking at me would tell I'm a metal-head, but I also appreciate all kinds of music. I will never understand techno in any way, shape, or form. LOL.
