I live in New Zealand, LCD's that provide a picture with comparable quality to a CRT aren't too expensive - if you are one of the few who earn $10,000 more than the average wage.
I'm a student, so I think I'll stick with my CRT. It's 21" and cost me $0. So I have to degauss it every so often, so what?
I do a lot of programming, web browsing, gaming and picture editing. An LCD that produced a similar quality picture is far, far out of my price range.
I don't think I will be buying an LCD for a few years yet.
