I voted "Mostly", since I bet ALL the time, the parent's inner intentions are to make his son/daughter happy, it's just that they're not with our times(and we are not with their times too), so what we see as appropriate or cool, isn't to them and vice-versa. That's when bad-decision-making-that's-not-on-purpose happens.
