actually the actress is from mixed heritage and she's not from the states. she was born in Russia to a nigerian father and russian mother. also rumor has it she's gonna be Derek's new love interest. it's kind of funny, yet fitting that both characters will be together even after making fun of Jimmy's wheelchair and Alex's sexuality. i guess it's fitting for the older characters to teach the younger ones a thing or two about respect.
