Scientology wants money, and they are getting loads of it because that is how their cult functions.

Thye supported the DMCA and use it frequently against Google Slashdot ( Scientologists Force Comment Off Slashdot, Yahoo, any critics of them.

BBC documentary on Scientology was turned into a stalkingfest by them (they hire private investigators for every critic and use the predicatable Scientologist policy of fair game to attack them). they threatened to sue (as they frequently do:

so they had to take all the interesting stuff, eg., Lisa McPherson, some interviews with celebs, out.

BBC Scientology Documentary for free online Half an hour and you might learn a bit why countries don't classify it as a religion. Hint: It didn't start out that way until Hubbard got smacked down for practicing medicine without a license. So they got a first amendment exception by classifying it as a religious experience and making millions off their victims through selling 'religious' texts and courses (like Hubbard's sci fi book)

I'm atheist or agnostic, but this stuff is extremely shady.
