Yeah, I read about this because it seemed to "hard core" for old school degrassi. Basically, after graduation Wheels is driving drunk with Lucy to get chips, and he gets into an accident where a 2-year old in another car is killed, and Lucy is temporarily blinded and crippled, and Wheels goes to jail.

In the first "new" series where the old cast got together, Lucy was married, wore special glasses with which to see, and had to use a cane; and Wheels was out of jail and drinking again. He asked Lucy to forgive him, and she said she'd forgiven him a long time ago, but she wanted him to join AA; and he does.
