Default Re: Should all countries ban the incandescent light bulb?

I like the idea of LED's but the current crop of energy savers and screw-in flourescents aren't a viable altenative. I work in a healthcare facility that switched to the energy saver bulbs 4 years ago and none lived to their life expectency. The administrator actually considered hiring someone to just replace bulbs because they were lasting only 3 to 6 months. Inventory reports showed that every energy saver bulb in the facility had been replaced at least twice in the first year. We are now back to incandescents. In case you're wondering, this is an historic building built in 1917 which is why it has so many incandescent fixtures.
