That's actually it right there. I'm also curious to know did the writers/producers went along with it not only for it's ratings, but also to see if they could be popular with it's fans base? They were probably seeing what other couple they could form that their fan base could probably embrace with only a short period of time in the season. And since most of us and many else where are core palex fans we can still keep that hope alive for the coming up season.
