Re: Drugs: The Legalization Thread i am for it
the reason./
the social cost of drug addiction is an increase in crime and the targeted group is generally the elderly .
addicts with a thousand or more dollar a day habit have to resort to crime so they can finance there addiction,
therefor it stands to reason it it was made avaliable cheaply and strictly controlled then the crime rate (home intrusions) would drop.
an addict is an addict no matter what the addiction,it is a disease ,there for treatable.(but they have to be ready)
pot is less harmfull than cigarettes ,so i see no point in this being illeagle
prohabition has never worked and never will,so it stands to reason that the billions of dollars world wide spent to curb the drug trade, would be better spent on helping the poor and underdeveloped countries.
in short if the gov of the day controlled the production and distribution of the drugs ,it would cut crime, organised crime would suffer, and deaths from overdose could be adverted.
the tax revenue could then help improve a lot of problems.
ok that is my opinion any way |
