Question Blair - Good or Bad?

So Blair is off soon and I would like to see what people think of his time in office. Has he been a good prime minister? Built this country up? Or is he, to put it bluntly, crap? Has he wrecked the place?

To copy my comments from a Digg post recently:
Quote:
Well I'm glad he's going - since he's been in, civil liberties in the UK have been eroded dramatically. We are now the most watched nation in the World, we can't use loudhailers on protests, we can't protest without permission near our own parliament, we can't call a company to complain more than once (even if it is 2 people), we are moving towards having a giant database of everyone in the country which will be used to keep track of pretty much everything, it is now 'extremist' to hold strong views about animal rights, spray painting something is no longer 'criminal', it is 'terrorist' if it is related to a political view point... Need I go on?

Also, whilst he has managed that lot, he has also instigated a series of giant shake-ups which have left the NHS in tatters, the Education system suffering from 'teaching to the test', the police are underfunded - in favour of 'community support officers' who are generally, IME, more moronic in their behaviour than the police, prisons are overcrowded due to the increase in number of criminal offences available to prosecute people with, confused everyone with the changes to cannabis classification, screwed education, health and public workers over in general with pathetic pay rises which are below the rate of inflation, oh and has pushed ahead with a pointless road expansion plan regardless of the facts that these roads will be full nearly as soon as they open (example, the Lancaster Northern Bypass - expected to be at 'congested' levels within 6 months of opening, but will ruin several sites of beauty to build).

And then you've got the obvious stuff - war, lies, corruption within his government and his apparent unwillingness to deal with it.
