I want to believe that but if everyone remembers the events leading up to the war, Bush's actions would suggest otherwise. At the time, Hans Blix and his crew were in Iraq searching for WMD's and Iraq was under intense international scrutiny which means that any "immenent threat" that existed was now on hold. Hans Blix was forced out of Iraq when Bush anounced that the first phase of the war was to begin and that the inspectors must leave because their safety could not be gauranteed. Bush wanted Blix out because he could not afford to have him deliver an official report of findings to the U.N. He knew that Blix would find nothing. I firmly believe that Iraq was a target from the beginning and 9/11/2001 was Bush's ticket to the big show. I don't like believing this but this adminstration's actions here and abroad, it's attitudes towards other countries, and it's willingness to render our Constitution null and void when it interferes with it's agenda, tells me that we have elected one of the worst world leaders ever.
